This is the most appealing short film I have ever seen.

It is said by Daniel Pink in his book, A Whole New Mind, that it is those who have the power of synthesis who will be the most successful in the 21st century.

The day of the one dimensional knowledge worker is past, according to Pink.

In this century, one now must be able to analyze a situation, and use its various parts to produce something new.

One example Pink uses is that, formerly, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) would be the first hired on Wall Street, New York every year. Now Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) are the first hired on the Street. Why?

Because Wall Street has found that the MFA is the first to

  1. observe what is needed in a situation,
  2. empathize with the prospective client, and
  3. synthesize the elements of a solution (to whatever problems or obstacle standing in the way of successful resolution of the problem presented.

This film demonstrates quite clearly the power of synthesis. It has so many dimensions, it would require a 300 page volume to describe all of them.

Happily, a book is not necessary. The messages are presented in the film. I guarantee the viewer that on the fifth run through of this video, all will become clear.
